Gallo Blu a Trafalgar Square, Londra.

La statua di un Gallo blu, opera dell’artista tedesca Katharina Fritsch, è stata inaugurata sul piedistallo di Trafalgar Square e subito ha scatenato delle polemiche. Il gallo, simbolo della Francia, appare vicino alla statua dell’ammiraglio Nelson e rimarrà lì per 18 mesi.

L'opera, non appena è stata inaugurata, ha scatenato subito una guerra a Londra. La statua del gallo blu – che si chiama Hann/Cock – è stata piazzata su un piedistallo dove a turno vengono esposte delle opere di arte contemporanea e già in passato vi erano state delle polemiche per le sculture scelte. In questo caso le polemiche sono nate per diversi motivi. 

Ad esempio perché il gallo è il simbolo nazionale della Francia e piazzarlo lì rappresenterebbe per alcuni un controsenso dato che a pochi metri c’è la colonna con la statua di Horatio Nelson, l’ammiraglio britannico che sconfisse l’imperatore della Francia Napoleone nella battaglia di Trafalgar.

Nonostante le polemiche speriamo non scoppi una guerra tra Inglesi e Francesi per colpa di un gallo, per lo più blu!

For example, because the rooster is the national symbol of France and place it there would be a contradiction to some since a few meters away is the column with the statue of Horatio Nelson, the British admiral who defeated the emperor Napoleon in the Battle of France of Trafalgar.

Despite the controversy bursts hopefully not a war between England and France because of a rooster, mostly blue!
